Reflux and breastfeeding, Diabetes and Breastfeeding, Breast Surgeries and NEC free NICUs, are the topics which will be covered in the upcoming ALCI Members Only Spring Study Day at the University Maternity Hospital, Limerick on Saturday 16th April 2016. The full timetable is available here.
The main speaker, Carol Smyth BSc MSc IBCLC provides lactation consultancy and education from her private practice in Northern Ireland. Carol has a special interest in reflux, colic and tongue tie and has written about these topics via her blog at Mammæ. Carol also sits on the Breastfeeding Strategy Implementation Steering Group in Northern Ireland.
Yvonne Moloney, Advanced Midwife Practitioner UMH, Limerick will speak about Diabetes and Breastfeeding.
Dr. Roy Philip Consultant Neonatologist. Roy will present a session about breastfeeding and breast surgeries, and a second session on achieving an NEC-Free NICU.
This year’s Spring Study Day follows the ALCI Membership Renewal date (February 28th 2016) and new or existing members must join/renew for ’16-’17 in order to attend. For your convenience both can be done together online. The event is also open to staff and students of Limerick University Maternity Hospital – please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The ALCI AGM also takes place as part of the day. The fee for the day is €30 and includes lunch. Four CERPs have been allocated, and An Bord Altranais approval have been applied for.
